9:30am Wake up with a horrible headache. I had it last night as well, but was hoping that sleep would cure it. Apparently not.
10am Make myself another decaf coffee.
10:10am Sat at the table eating breakfast, sipping my coffee. Head pounding. Stare at coffee. Oh my God. Is the headache caffeine withdrawal? Am I… an addict?
10:30am Have ordered Russell Brand’s book, Recovery. Will take my new life as a caffeine-free person very seriously. Have been clean for 24 hours.
12pm Boyfriend back from final nightshift and is asleep in the bedroom. Sister and I watch the Tiger King special ‘together’. I know it’s trash but I love it.
7.30pm Spent the afternoon doing a book edit; now settle down to a virtual pub quiz, meticulously organised by a great pal and top pub quizzer. Our team name is Antonio NonEssentialTravelBanderas. The quiz is brilliant (we come third) and I can’t stop laughing at another pal who keeps quietly changing his background from The Queen Vic to G-A-Y to Blind Date to Eurovision.
8pm Sushi order arrives. Hooray for NHS discounts and those who benefit from them!
